Iris DeMent 1.13.07

Good thing she wasn't sick this time...

The Wilders 1.12.07

The Wilders are a Grey Eagle favorite. They packed the house on Friday for a co-bill with The Red Stick Ramblers. Seems like everyone in town was there for a piece of the foot-stompin' good time, but just in case you weren't, here's a few pics of the Wilders burnin' through Hank William's "Settin' the Woods on Fire."

Fred J. Eaglesmith1.4.07

Fred Eaglesmith has been called "the redneck's poet." While he might be poetic, he's from Canada, and I'm not sure if there are rednecks in Canada....he's a superb human being nonetheless, and the crowd was entertained as always by quips and jokes that at times seemed to last longer than his songs. I even think there was a mention of Earthfare, and we all know how rednecks feel about health food stores, right? For the encore, Fred even pretended to play bass and joke about it, as seen below.

Larry Keel 12.31.06

Larry Keel brought his annual New Year's Eve Mountain Music Circus extravaganza to town to welcome in the new year. The yellow party hat was an excellent touch, if only they could learn to spell 'mountain' correct, these guys might just take over the world (or at least the mountain).
